Omnithos3 days agoIf by free will you mean the power to be the ultimate creator of yourself and your decisions, independent of all prior causes, I would say no. But then you may not have chosen the mind with which you began life, but the mind you have can still learn, reflect, and change. That doesn't prove that absolute free will exist but it does explain why the absence of ultimate control need not make your choices, efforts, or life meaningless. You may not be responsible for everything that made you who you are, but what you do now can still influence who you become. Your choices matter, even if you didn't create yourself from nothing. -
